The URL Redirection feature allows you to redirect
traffic from your domain name to any existing
website address.
This feature can be particular useful to people who
have many domains and want to redirect all of those
domains
to their main website address.
For example, this is how we use the URL redirection
feature. Our main website address is:
HostSite.com.
If you accidentally typed in a similar website
address such as HostSites.com or SiteHost.com
into the web browser, you will be redirected back to
the main HostSite.com website.
This is because we setup the redirection feature for
HostSites.com and SiteHost.com
to point towards the main HostSite.com website.
See for how redirection works yourself using the
example below:
http://hostsites.com goes to hostsite.com
http://sitehost.com goes to
hostsite.com
As you see this, you'll start to understand how you
can use our free URL Redirection to your benefit.
You can reroute traffic from your own domain names
to your main website
so that your customers will have an easier time
finding you on the internet.
You can even use this feature to reroute commonly
mis-spelled variations of your domain name
back to your main website.
To setup URL redirection:
1. login
Account Manager
2. click on "Domain Accounts" link
3. select the domain name you want to manage
4. click on "URL Redirection / Web Forwarding" link
5. The rest is self-explanatory at this point. All
the details and instructions will be on that page.
6. Wait about 24 hours for the DNS Nameservers to
propagate.
After that, your redirection should be working.
