Question:
How does HostSite's PrivateWhois service protect my
privacy? |
By default, all domain registrations at HostSite.com
have their PrivateWhois setting setup to block
their real email address from being displayed in the
WHOIS. This protects our customers
from spammer who harvest email addresses directly
from WHOIS domain records.
This is great for people who prefer to keep their
main email address spam free.
With PrivateWhois, you can also block your postal
address from being displayed in the WHOIS.
However, you will have to enable this protection
manually yourself from inside your
Account Manager. The benefits of enabling address
protection is that it prevents
situations where marketers get your postal mailing
address from the public
WHOIS domain database, and use that address
information to send you advertisements.
You can enable or disable PrivateWhois services for
any of your domain(s) here instantly
by logging into your
Account Manager. |
